Whhaaaat?! Too much! Just too much! Olivia’s mom is alive; Mellie’s and Fitz’s first born son is quite possibly the product of a rape by Fitz’s father, and creepily enough is also named after him; Douglas is gay; Quinn is now a real murderer and part of B613; Fitz knows Rowan is Olivia’s father (it’s about time, get with the program Fitz); and Cyrus not only once had hair, and a lot of it, but was also married to a woman?!
First off, what is Mellie’s end game? She has previously mentioned her political aspirations and using Fitz as a springboard into her future career. Yet, all of this…. I can’t believe all of it is her teeing up to be Ms. President one day?! I’m pretty sure Mellie crossed the how far is too far/what will you give up to get what you want line way back in the 1990’s. When that woman wants something though, you had better stand out of her way!
Next, Olivia’s mom is alive! And not looking so fresh. Prison? A mental asylum? Did she plant the dirty bomb? Does she know too much about B316? So many questions! Though we see that she demands to see her daughter. So a family reunion appears to be in the near future.
Now let’s get down to the fashion of the episode. The obvious color of choice was BLUE this episode. Everyone, from Baby Teddy’s adorable elbow-paddeded shirt, to Harrison’s always fashionable tie, to Abby’s bright blue eyes, was featuring blue. Olivia’s initial Santa robe/coat was the highlight piece of the episode. Her next two outfits, the blue ensemble and then the white and black suit, fell short of her usual attire in my opinion. The Santa coat, as I will refer to it, is actually Christian Dior’s Timeless Coat from his Fall 2013 Collection.
