If you haven’t read Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn do so now, right now! This is easily one of the best books I have read in the last few years…and I read a lot. I could not put it down. The back and forth between the two main characters is unique and allows the unfolding drama to be seen from multiple perspectives. Flynn’s writing style keeps the reader guessing the entire way, revealing the truth bit by bit. Over all my chatting with others about the book, I have not heard one bad review.
The movie adaption is set to be released October 3rd, 2014 and I really hope it does the book justice. Ben Affleck stars as husband Nick Dunne while Rosamund Pike plays the missing wife Amy Dunne aka Amazing Amy (named so after a series of children’s books written by her parents and based loosely on Amy as a child…read Gone Girl). The trailer seems to focus on the investigation of Amy’s disappearance and leaves out other aspects of the book. (Such as Neil Patrick Harris who plays Desi Collings. A lesser role, but I can’t wait to see what NPH does with it.) Though, it is best not to reveal too much too soon.
Nonetheless, it is a great teaser trailer.
