Binge watching TV shows is not my thing. However, I got so absorbed by Season 2 with all its twists and turns that I just couldn’t stop myself. I rationalized the marathon of Netflix time by watching episodes on my phone while running at the gym. You can watch a good show/marathon and not be a couch potato at the same time. 🙂
I promised that I wouldn’t reveal any details, but the first episode had a moment where my mouth dropped open. I paused, rewound, and watched again to make sure I understood what had just happened. Then I picked up the phone and immediately sent a text to one of my best friends who also is addicted, “Holy Shit! ….” Overall, the plot was just as good as Season 1.
Yet, the fashion was not.
Claire Underwood’s looks are usually steely and cold, but completely put together. I didn’t enjoy the added girly touches in her wardrobe this season. Claire isn’t meant to be girly. Take for example, the ribbon belt pictured below which Claire wears in Episode 5 of Season 2.
There was also nothing new, nothing fresh. Claire and other cast members wore the same outfits again and again. For example, the Black Halo dress Jackie wears below while talking to Claire in Episode 10 of Season 2 was also worn by her in the Season 2 Finale while she speaks in her office to Remy. While I might not have the bank account to never wear the same thing twice, these characters need to get out of the White House once in awhile and go shopping. That or have their aides and interns go for them :).
